Chimera Castle-in-the-air is the virtual abode of Andy and Beth Wheeler. Why "Chimera Castle-in-the-air"? Our RL home is "Chimera Castle" so it just seemed natural.

Andy is a computer programmer and analyst who's interested in roleplaying and board games, H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King, fishing, rock music from the Beatles to the Violent Femmes, the theater (said with a snooty accent), writing poetry, science fiction fandom, filking, and other weirdness. To give you an idea of his evil nature, he recently ran a Toon version of "Call of Cthulhu" at Gamicon, a local gaming convention. Just try to imagine Loony Tunes characters running through an H.P. Lovecraft novel and you'll have the idea! He's an invertebrate punster (spineless, really!) but is kind to children and small animals (at least on alternate Tuesdays). He's also an excellent chef. He's known as Pattern Ghost on the ISCA BBS, but prefers to think of himself as Penfold, the hamster sidekick of Dangermouse on the British cartoon of the same name.
Beth (who has been known as Firedrake on everything from cb radio to ISCA BBS) generally stays at home with the childer, Dylan (a hamster-dragon crossbreed) and Davey (a little elfkin with honest-to-God pointed ears!). She keeps pretty busy with other things, though; she's an aspiring fantasy novelist -- no publications yet, though she's come very close. She hopes to get her first novel sent out sometime in the next few months. Beth enjoys music (British folk and classical). She also writes filk (sometimes combining talents with Andy, who writes a pretty mean filk song himself) and poetry. She's been known to dabble in letterpress printing, crocheting scarves, making charm bracelets and other jewelry, drawing, painting clothes pin people, and a ton of other projects, many of which are eventually relegated to the bedroom closet. She loves to (and is pretty good at, if she does say so herself!) sing, and also plays a (very little) bit of guitar, recorder, and piano. With Andy she's interested in science-fiction fandom and roleplaying games.
The other denizens of our house are the aforementioned Dylan; ten years old, and interested in Sega, hot wheels, Shel Silverstein, the Animorphs, science fiction movies and tv shows, and asking deep questions about things like the nature of the fourth dimension. Davey is four; he can already carry a tune and put together an twenty-five piece interlocking puzzle, but prefers to play interactive make believe with two plastic or stuffed animals, or two action figures. He's also getting into playing board games with his brother, and doing some simple reading. The other household member is Europa, a tortiseshell cat who figures out how to open doors, and is a lot smarter than is good for her.
