Iowa City Tango Club is very pleased to announce that we will have Barbara Durr of Atlanta coming to Iowa City for 3 days of tango workshops and dancing! Mark the days of November 16-17-18, 2007 on your calendars now!
A number of Iowa City Tango Club members have studied with Barbara in the last couple years, and have enjoyed her teaching and insights into tango. She has made regular visits to Buenos Aires for tango dancing, learning and other tango projects she works on. She has worked frequently with Robert Hauk, a now regular visitor to Iowa City. This is an excellent oppportunity. Both Leaders and Followers will learn valuable material from Barbara. We are looking forward to her first visit to Iowa City.
We also will have a special Two Hour class on Saturday Morning in TWO Parts specifically geared towards teachers of tango or those wanting to teach tango--it will be from 11:00AM-1:00PM.
We'll have classes in the Assembly Room of the Iowa City Senior Center (The Old Iowa City Post Office). Great wood floor, LARGE dancing floor, very high ceiling, very clear sound system, air-conditioned in summer. Adults of all ages are welcome. You do NOT need to be a member of The Center to attend classes, practica, or milonga.
Bring treats if you are able--we can set up tables for them and make it a weekend of learning and partying! You can bring beverages (pop, juice, tea, mate'), but please, no alcoholic beverages are permitted in City of Iowa City buildings. And don't forget about our Saturday night Milonga!
