Modei & Marina Dance to ¡Cubanismo!

The Iowa City Jazz Fest was particularly fortunate to host ¡Cubanismo! as the Headliner act of the 2001 Fest. If you were there, you know what an extraordinary treat it was--if you weren't--why not?! The Festival closed on as high a note as could possibly be imagined.

The orquesta is very polished, very engaged with their audience, and very fun to dance to! Thanks, Steve Grismore, for bringing this great group to Iowa City (and Alba--for bringing them to Des Moines the day before!!), and also for announcing that dancers would be up in front of the stage and could use some more room! We had twice as much dancing space as last year! Thank You!

(Before the 3rd song, it was clear that us dancers could have filled even more space, and were in fact overflowing to the sides and back of the stage area!)
