Happy holidays, friends. A party every week - who could ask for more! This Saturday we are pleased to have Brenda Neville of New York City's Neville Dance Theatre with us again for a mini-workshop before the holiday party at the Wesley Center. Brenda will teach two classes (noon-3:00), then a third class 'all-levels' at 6:30 pm, right before the milonga. My hope is that two classes during the day will be easy on our feet and give everyone time to rest, have dinner, whip together an hors d'oevres, and head back over to Wesley for the 6:30 class and milonga. If you are coming from out of town and don't have last-minute shopping to do, make yourself at home at the Wesley Center between classes. Bring a towel if you want to shower at Wesley, or a pillow, book, or laptop if you like. The lineup is thus: Noon-1:30 parradas and molinettes 1:30-3:00 traveling turns (traveling turns, four-step turns, turns with sacadas) 3:00-4:30 basics review and common floorcraft 4:30- Practica/Milonga (dance party)-with one eye on the weather! First class $20, additional classes $15 each. Milonga is free to workshop participants, $5 for others. I just returned from Mexico and haven't danced in awhile, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the Iowa City regulars and all the folks who come sometimes from Cedar Rapids, the quad cities, Cedar Falls, Ames, Fairfield, etc. It'll be a fine party. I'm talking to you, crazy guy. Tall guy. Chic girl. Nice couple. Close dancer. Sweet lady. Smooth couple. International traveler. Standard setter. Nemesis. Suave. Cute couple. Grey fox. Old friend. Yes you. Gail
