Nestor and Enriqueta will be teaching a SPECIAL LESSON on TUESDAY PRACTICA NIGHT, May 6. Our regular practica will be replaced by this special group lesson opportunity.

The topic will be: The "three crosses" in Tango. Starting with the different "ochos": Ocho Cortado, Ocho Milonguero, back ochos, and forward ochos.

Also including the Technique for the woman with respect to "ochos". How to use ochos within the music.

There will be a charge of $15.00 per person for this special class.

SOME INFORMATION ON NESTOR LA VITOLA AND ENRIQUETA KLEINMAN

COMING TO IOWA CITY May 2,3,4, 2008

Iowa City Tango Club is very pleased to announce that we will have Nestor La Vitola and Enriqueta Kleinman coming to us on May 2,3,4 for a weekend of extraordary milonguero tango. We are also very pleased that we will have joining us this same weekend, Pocho y Nely!

Nestory y Enriqueta are in America for a very limited engagement, and we are privileged to have them start off their USA tour in Iowa City! Their trip to Iowa City is being coordinated by Karen Jackson of Iowa City Tango Club, and their host, Ray Barbosa of Chicago Milonguero, Ltd. who will also be part of the Iowa City workshops in May.

Nestor is one of the few remaining true milongueros and has more than 50 years Argentine tango dancing experience.

Enriqueta is highly-trained, expert tango teacher who combines her painting background with her experience in teaching.

Nestor has taught Argentine tango for over 20 years. He was self educated; when he started there wasn't any formal tango education for tango instructors. Nestor has been an Instructor in Susana Miller's Academy. At the beginning at Club "El Juvenil" and then in "El Beso" (Capital Federal). He has also been an Instructor in the Restaurant Porteño Plaza (Capital Federal). He has also instructed at "Porteño y Bailarin", "Dandi", Club "Fenix", "Florida Club", and Pilar Athletic Club, "Alma". He has also been a Tango Teacher for the Secretary of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires. During 2004-2005 he was an instructor at Spilimbergo Cultural Center; and during 2006-1007 he was an instructor at Tato Bores Cultural Center. He was also the organizer of the Tato Bores's Milonga.

Nestor has performed at the following locations: Cafe "Homero Manzi"; Channel 7 ATC, Sr. Mazzuca's TV program; Channel 2 of City of Pilar. Nestor was a finalist at the 1st Tango's Metropolitan Championship organized by the Government of Buenos Aires. He also starred in the documentary: "El Abrazo La vida es un tango"-. Edited by News Group Communications Inc. At present this show is being shown on Spanish TV in France, and was exhibited in Argentina's Embassy in Washington D.C. Nestor is also a member of the Argentine Association of Teachers and Dancers of Salon Tango.

Enriqueta has dance Tango Milonguero Style for over 15 years. She performed at the Third and Fifth Metropolitan Championships in Buenos Aires. She has done a number of performances in Buenos Aires including at Salon Canning , Cachirulo (Maipu 444), and at the Confiteria Ideal at the First Milongueando Festival in Buenos Aires. She has been an instructor at Susana Miller's La Academia and presently teaches with Nestor La Vitola at Maipu 444.

They are experts in Salon Tango - Milonguero Style, Tango Waltz and Milonga. Enriqueta also specialises in teaching technique for women and has led many courses and seminars.

The Iowa City Workshop is coordinated by Iowa City Tango Club Member Karen Jackson. Appearances by Nestor Y Enriqueta And Pocho Y Nely are sponsored by Chicago Milonguero, Ltd., Ray Barbosa.
