My Grandfather strived to prove his father's family name and origin as early as the 1920's. Although he collected information from many sources - and much of his work has led to significant findings in the Kitterman line - after 75 years there still exists no definitive proof of who his father's parents were.

Family information states that his father, Bird Kitterman, was a descendant of Justice Kitterman. This was corroborated by additional sources that suggested Bird's ancestors included three brothers, Peter, Henry and John, sons of Justice, who arrived in America in the 1790's. Other members of the Kitterman line originate from three brothers and a sister who arrived 40 years earlier.

So... 75 years later I am continuing the search my Grandfather began.
